Steve Mulroy started his career as a Justice Department civil rights lawyer and a federal prosecutor in the 90s. And as a county commissioner, a defense lawyer, and a professor of criminal law for over 20 years, he has used his experience to make the criminal justice system fairer and smarter for the people of Shelby County.

In the 10 years that Republican Amy Weirich has been in office, violent crime has risen steadily. It’s clear that harsh sentences and discriminatory policies aren’t making anyone safer.
